2020: D is for Discipline

The coming year of 2020 is not looking very good with the ‘D’s in 2 Timothy 3 so far. But something triggered a memory when I read verses 14-15 today:
“You, however, continue in the things you have learned and become convinced of, knowing from whom you have learned them…”
I underscored and highlighted the word “knowing” in my journal.
The word “know” is “yada” in Hebrew as in Adam knew Eve and bore a child. “Yada” is one of the key words in the “4D” or “4 Disciplines” lessons I taught in the early years.
Instinctively, I know that God is telling us to re-visit those lessons (now available in The Library section of this website for members).
We will need the 4D, or 4 Spiritual Disciplines, in difficult times ahead.

My children shared the message they heard at the church service. The pastor’s message for the coming year is: “Discipline”!
I thought: “How cool is that? Not just me who heard the D word also.”
Pastor George said, “You pay for discipline in the world – for gym training, for classes, for education and so on, but do you realise that the discipline of God is free?”
Indeed. What a privilege!
