2023: The Year of His Glory

4 Jan 2023

I started to review what the five of us have shared about the year right after we had our holy communion in the first hour of 2023, which I summarise below:

31 Dec 2022

2023: 光明的一年

Translation: “2023 A Shining and Bright Year.”

The two Chinese words for brightness, 光明” [Guang ming] could also mean:

  • Light, Radiance
  • Honourable, not devious
  • Clarity, being straightforward, with nothing to hide

A Year of Joyful Laughter

A Year of Gratitude

I saw a very strong light too when I was worshipping. It’s the glory of God.

2023 is The Year of Glory.

The Sun in my Bible

I asked the Lord what is the verse for 2023 then? I know several with the “light”, since both KK and Florence had seen a strong and radiant light. Like Isaiah 60:1?

Nope, says V.

I flipped to the New Testament.

So, I told V, ok, I will close my eyes and let my fingers run through the bible and you show me.

When I opened my eyes, lo and behold, was this page on my very old English/Chinese bible. It had a sun drawn over Psalms 86 by me a long time ago, why or when I cannot remember. 😅

I read through verses 1 to 4.

They felt like urgent prayers of people in need, lives in danger, calling out for mercy and for joy. To me, this is a sombre warning, in line with what God has shown us about 2023, before the coming of the Mother of All Wars from 2024 to 2026.

However, I took great comfort in verses 5 and 6 that talk of God’s mercy and goodness, as we crossed over to the new year after midnight.

Glorification of His name

4 Jan 2023

Today, I felt led to read the entire psalm. And saw two verses that talked about the glorification of His name (highlighted below).

Verse 9

All the nations you have made will come and worship before you, O Lord;

They will bring glory to your name.

Verse 12

I will praise you, O Lord my God, with all of my heart;

I will glorify your name forever.

So, yes as Florence shared, 2023 is the Year of His Glory.

The Rainbow Bridge in Singapore

V: “Singapore shall lead the way to the glorification of God’s name. Remember the rainbow bridge in Singapore?”

Ah yes, it appeared on New Year’s Day. Our members have also seen the rainbow and it was reported in the local media as well.

Ah yes, like in the drawing composed by my two grandchildren on New Year’s Day, we will walk onto this Rainbow Bridge, onto the path of His Glory this year!

This is your promise that our country may be spared from the horror of the coming great war?

And our little boys and girls will be safe spiritually, physically and in every way; they will all be okay?

V: Not just the children but everyone who still has the cross in their hearts, worshipping and praising God with all of their heart. The name of God will be glorified. The children will lead the way!

Praise God!

Feeling thankful and assured, I prayed:

“Lord, 2023 and the years ahead may be fraught with danger and difficulties, but through it all, your name will be glorified. All the nations will come and worship before you! Your glory will shine brightly, bringing clarity and honour; all evil doers will be exposed and darkness will flee. Those who worship and praise You with all of their heart will live through these sad and dark days with thanksgiving and rapturous laughter.”

So, yes the verse for us this year is Psalms 86, verse 12:

I will praise you, O Lord my God, with all of my heart;

I will glorify your name forever.”

And as for COBS, we will continue to faithfully and quietly worship you. But as in Psalms 86:1-4 (Oh, I just noticed that it is a prayer of David) this is also a year to be praying fervently.

Time to depart from all that distracts, to hunker down and pray prayers that shake heavens and earth. 🙏
