2020: Difficult Times Ahead

25 October 2019

The Lord impressed upon me to look up the meaning of the unit number of this apartment we are considering to purchase which led to the verse 2 Timothy 3:17.

Difficult and Dangerous Times

As I opened my NASB Bible to read the verse, the heading to the chapter reads: “Difficult Times will Come.”

And I knew instinctively God was telling me about the coming year 2020.

“Brace yourself,” I heard V say as I read on.

“People will be lovers of themselves… ungrateful, unholy, malicious gossips, without self-control… conceited, lovers of pleasure rather than lovers of God, holding on to a form of godliness although they have denied its power. Avoid such men as these.”

“Holding on to a form of godliness….” I realized He is talking about religious people in the Church or in the Christian world.

I THOUGHT TO MYSELF, "THESE ARE ALSO DANGEROUS TIMES; WITH ENEMIES WITHIN AND CHALLENGES WITHOUT"

I thought to myself, “These are also dangerous times; with enemies within and challenges without.”

Deceiving and Being Deceived!

The chapter continues with:

“Weak women… always learning but never able to come to the knowledge of the truth.”

Finally, the verse reads: “All who desire to live godly in Christ Jesus will be persecuted. Evil men will get from bad to worse, deceiving and being deceived.”

EVIL MEN WILL GET FROM BAD TO WORSE, DECEIVING AND BEING DECEIVED

So much deception going on in the body!

I made a mental note to watch myself and begged the Lord to never let me depart from His truth, never ever to think too highly of myself and never to allow me to fall into the trap of self-deceit or conceit.
